Attention 4-12th Grade Students! Be creative and support this year’s theme:
“Don’t Get Burned by Big Tobacco”.
Poster & Art Contest
Children’s Hospital of Illinois and OSF Saint Francis Medical Center invite all 4th-12th grade students to participate in the 2015 KICK BUTTS DAY Poster & Art Contest. “Kick Butts Day”, March 18, 2015, is a national campaign for tobacco free kids. It’s a nationally recognized day for youth across the U.S. to STAND UP, SPEAK OUT, and SEIZE CONTROL AGAINST BIG TOBACCO.
Theme: “Don’t Get Burned by Big Tobacco”. Be creative! Use words and/or illustrations. Make a poster or draw a comic strip. Photography, electronic media and sculpture are accepted. Posters ARE NOT to exceed 30”x40”. All poster art must be able to stand upright to be displayed. It’s up to you! Your art must show what you can do to make your community smoke free. PLEASE WRITE YOUR NAME, GRADE, and PHONE NUMBER WITH SCHOOL and TEACHER’S NAME ON YOUR ART.
Your teacher is eligible for a prize, too!
WHEN & WHERE:
All art will be on display March 18-25 at the Peoria Public Library, 107 NE Monroe, Peoria, IL in the Lower Level 2 Conference Room from 9am-6pm. Awards ceremony will be held on March 18 at 4pm. Awards will be given to the top 4-5th, 6-8th, and 9-12th grade students. The ‘Best of Show’ will be shared in the media with the student’s photo and art displayed on local billboards.
Artwork will need to be picked up immediately after awards ceremony or it will be disposed unless other arrangements are made. For any questions please call Kathi Copelen at 309-655-2234.
