Infectious Disease

(309) 624-9680

The Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases is concerned with all aspects of childhood infections, including the diagnosis and management of acute and chronic infectious diseases.  We see children of all ages, from newborns to adolescents. In addition, we are happy to participate in the management of children with immunodeficiencies, immunosuppression associated with malignancies, organ transplantation, sickle cell disease, and other conditions that put children at increased risk for infections. Comprehensive history and physical examinations are performed on all patients along with laboratory and imaging as needed.

The Pediatric Infectious Diseases Division is primarily a consultative service for inpatients and outpatients. Most patients are seen by direct referral from their primary care physician; however, self-referral may be accepted because of a second opinion or other appropriate reason.
