Bleeding and Clotting Disorders

The Bleeding and Clotting Disorders Institute (BCDI), located at 9128 N. Lindbergh Dr., Peoria, IL 61615, provides and facilitates state-of-the-art treatment for children and adults with hemophilia and related bleeding and thrombotic disorders. The staff includes board certified physicians in pediatric hematology/oncology, nurses, social worker, rural outreach coordinator, reimbursement specialist/patient advocate, physical therapist and dentist.

Comprehensive Clinics are scheduled for:

  • Hemophilia
  • von Willebrand disease
  • Congenital platelet disorders
  • Bleeding disorders in women
  • Thrombotic disorders

These clinics provide the following services:

  • Assistance with reimbursement issues
  • Case management (medical, financial and psychosocial)
  • Comprehensive clinic evaluations
  • Clotting factor distribution
  • Coordination of care with primary care physicians and other specialist referrals, genetic counseling, nutrition education and dental care
  • Inservice training for healthcare providers, day care centers, schools and summer camps
  • Orthopedic and PT evaluations
  • Patient and family education, home infusion training
  • Rural outreach programs and satellite clinics
  • Support groups, summer camp

Nurse coordinators are available weekdays from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
