OSF HealthCare Children’s Hospital of Illinois has been recognized as a Best Children’s Hospital for 2021-22 by U.S. News & World Report.

OSF HealthCare Children’s Hospital of Illinois was recognized among the top three children’s hospital in Illinois and among the top 25 in the Midwest region which includes Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin.

In addition, this is the second year in a row the nephrology program, led by Dr. Vimal Raj, has been nationally ranked.

The U.S. News Best Children’s Hospitals rankings highlight the top 50 U.S. pediatric facilities in cancer, cardiology and heart surgery, diabetes and endocrinology, gastroenterology and GI surgery, neonatology, nephrology, neurology and neurosurgery, orthopedics, pulmonology and urology.

The Best Children's Hospitals methodology factors objective measures such as patient outcomes, including mortality and infection rates, as well as available clinical resources and compliance with best practices. RTI International, a North Carolina-based research and consulting firm, collected and analyzed data from 118 children’s hospitals and surveyed thousands of pediatric specialists. More than 100 pediatric specialists and other experts provided input through methodology working groups.

This year’s rankings will be published in the U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Hospitals 2022” guidebook in October.
